Exam blues?

I don't know about you, but I ain't liking these exams. They give me some serious blues, and I mean get me that guitar and a bottle of Jack blues. But before I move to Mississippi and start singing how my baby left me, I'll think about better days to come.

With that in mind, I'm very excited about AUFS and this spring! On the 2nd of February we are arranging a vintage tour of Aberdeen. We'll take you to the best charity shops and vintage stores in this grey city of ours. With our lovely members (and non-members) in mind, we've even arranged some discounts for y'all! So get ready to reinvent your wardrobe with some retro secondhand goodies, just in time for spring! To find out more, check out the event on our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/events/260116744055915/

I leave you now with some vintage inspiration to get you through this difficult time.

Shame: A Film Student's Wet Dream

Shame is a film filled with haunting scenes and long takes of reflecting gazes into nothingness. Shame is also filled with nudity, sex and a great soundtrack. What more could a film student ask for!

Steve McQueen's second feature film focuses on a sex addict played by the extremely fit Michael Fassbender, whose life is starting to spiral out of control. His messed up sister showing up, played by Carey Muligan, doesn't seem to help. The explicit sex scenes are carefully masked into something sad and pathetic that doesn't leave room for embarrassed giggles. Or so thinks the film student. All in all, Shame can be a beautiful and agonizing film about two people not unlike all of us, or it can be an porn film with an artistic narrative. This depends solely on the audience.
